All things Fairy...................

I've had such a fun time recently when i decided to hunt for other cute fairy items.

As you know i sell my art creations on the fabulous site http://www.etsy.com/

Last week i came accross a lovely lady who has a shop on there called LandOfEnchantment. She mainly sells fantastic whimsicle digital Fairy Collage sheets but what appealed to me was the work she has on this website http://earthangelstoys.com/. The lady is called Debrina Pratt. She has a lot of work in the Altered Art section.
Check it out as it is so very fabulous !!!!!!!!!
Will be posting more great fairy finds soon xxxxx

Original Fairy Art Scrabble Tile Necklaces

Hello and a warm fairy welcome to all my new fans - it is so fantastic to have you xx

Well, i've been working like crazy recently and although its brilliant that i am acquiring a new fan base (thankyou!!!!!!) My sales are yet to improve. It is disheartening but it is soooooooooo early days yet and i know it is going to take a lot of hard work to achieve my dream!

Anyway my new project is Scrabble Tile Necklaces which some of my fellow etsians will be familiar with. These cute pieces are my original art prints cut down to size and placed on a scrabble tile sized piece of wood. This is then built up with a protective glaze. A bail is attatched to the back and a ball chain is fed through the bail - heh presto we have a scrabble tile necklace. I will be offering any of my original artwork on these tiles with a ball chain necklace of your choice. Think they will be retailing at about $8.00 / £5.00. If you are interested please email opr check on my etsy store in September.

I am quite excited as i will be attending a Mind, Body, Spirit Fair at the end of August with my sister (first ever Fair! EEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!) Wish us lots of luck xxxx Will let you know how we get on.

Anyway bye for now and contact me with any orders you may have. I will be happy to help you out and you will receive a special discount if you mention you follow my blog before purchasing. Fairy kisses - Sarah xxxxx

My new idea

Well - with the kids being off school it has certainly been hectic and interesting to say the least. They have been helping - or not as the case my be to come up with ideas and create some new art. After 5 minutes their mission was accomplished and they had moved on however, i had not!

I came up with the great idea (well, hopefully great) to do a series of painting all with the same theme - The Adventures of Fiori The Fairy. I must say i have been quite pleased with the results. So far i have painted Fiori The Fairy and the Magic Tree and then Fiori The Fairy and The Flower Garden. They are minature stretched canvas's 6" x 6", painted with acrylics and i will be continuing the series for a little while longer.

BEAUTIFUL BLYTHES!!!!!!!

My sisters got a lot to answer for!!!!!

A few weeks ago she introduced me to Blythe Dolls. Since then my life has not been the same. I am living, eating and breathing Blythes - and now i am painting them (well, she is still a fairy).

They are a lovely subject matter to paint and the customised Blythes are all so unique which gives me never ending possibilities.

My mission now is to carry on painting a few more Blythe dolls and see if theres any interest fior them. If not - heh, i might carry on anyway!! Its so much fun.

MONDAY MORNING

Its been a very good start to the week.

The Pink Fairy canvas that was for a lady's 11 yr old daughter has been collected today and she seems delighted with it. Also i have taken a few of my sisters ideas on board and am trying out a new subject in my art. Top secret at the mo. Mandy (SISSY) is doing one too and it looks fab!!!!

Keeping positive and enjoying the fact that i am trying something different. It is kind of refreshing. Yesterday i listed another Fairy Canvas on Etsy. I have called it 'Flower Fairy'. It is probably one of my favourites to date....

More Fairies..................................

Today has been so warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The studio where my sister and i work was so hot i'm suprised we managed to achieve anything. A fan would be a big bonus but for now we will have to moan a lot!!

Been working some more on a custom canvas. A lovely lady has requested a fairy canvas for her daughters 11th Birthday. Apparently she has pink tones in her bedroom and she is very messy. She plays a Viola and is into ballet and tap so i am working on all of these things with the hope that i looks good! The canvas is not quite complete but i thought i would give you a little sneak preview.

Fairytastic day!!!!!

What a lovely sunny day its been.

Both my sister and i have been into the studio today working hard on our paintings. Mandy (my sister) is doing a beautiful mermaid with acrylic paints and i have been working on a custom commission based on the Wizard of Oz. Its great fun as The Wizard of Oz is just about my favourite film ever!!! When its finished i will post it to my blog,

Anyway the day just got better as Mandy recieved her first commission through etsy to do a rather interesting piece of art. She is very excited as am i. It always throws up such a buzz when you have a bit of a challenge. Hopefully Mandys piece of art will be posted when complete so watch this space.....

'Hope Fairy' was very enjoyable to make!!! She was handpainted in acrylics. The background was made up of vellum, decopupatch paper, vintage writing was used for the wings. She looks troubled and that is why i named her the 'Hope Fairy'

Oh what a journey this year has been so far!!!!

I feel i need to show you some of my artwork first and shortly i will fill you in on my year so far...

My first collage called ' A Fairy Tale' is still one of my favourites. I love the delicate nature of this collage and it is featured in my Etsy store at present as are various other collages.
